This month we sit down with our April Artist of the month, Admit Oner.
How do you explain your artistic style? What mediums/ tools do you work with?
NW Street Art inspired. Acrylic, enamel, and oil pen pieces. Free hand and stencil styles.
From what/ from where do you draw artistic inspiration?
Friends, freeway overpasses, Norman Rockwell, bathroom walls.
How do you define “artist?” Have you always considered yourself an artist? Was there a specific time or moment when you began to define yourself as such?
I started drawing in church under the pews to keep myself entertained in between sermons.
How often do you work artistically? How do make space and time for creating works?
I draw regularly at local dive bars and watering holes. I'm that guy! But I also have studio space in my attic.
Briefly describe your life—outside of artistic creation-- hobbies, work, family, etc.
PNW born and raised. I skateboard which has influenced a lot of my views and interests. I live with my 11 year old Akita, "Toshi" and I believe that live music is just about the best thing ever.
Please tell us about your connections to the Seven Market.
