Just want to thank Crai Bower in his Sound Bites from Seattle post on the Hertz UK website for the mention as a great spot for coffee in Seattle!  The article mentions many old school Seattle haunts, of which we are proud to be a member of!  Great old-timey spots inlcude the Sea Monster Lounge in Wallingford, Tractor Tavern in Ballard, and Hattie's Hat also in Ballard.  Also mentioned are newer members of Seattle's food scene like Slate Coffee Roasters and London Plane.

We recently sat down with our May 2017 artist, Sierramatice Karras.  

Sean: How do you explain your artistic style?  What medium/tools do you work with?

Sie-ce: I make plushies sewn by hand out of fleece and felt.  Most of the patterns are my own designs.

Sean: From what/where to you draw artistic inspiration?

Sie-ce: I draw a lot of inspiration from nature as well as from mythology.

Daisy Sky Studio is a small art studio in the basement of a Ravenna home.  The home and studio belong to Kari Westphal, our friend and neighbor near Seven Market & Cafe.  Kari has frequently shown her beautiful encaustic paintings in the shop.  We love her art, as each piece reflects skill, insight, and care of the subject, often an amazing portrayal of Puget Sound.
